Microsoft Consolidates Roadmap Updates Under 'AI at Work' Umbrella
Microsoft has announced that it will consolidate its roadmap updates for Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Dataverse under the 'AI at Work' umbrella. Starting in September 2026, users can expect a single destination to track new features, Copilot enhancements, platform investments, and future product plans.
This change reflects a broader shift in how business applications are evolving. Rather than focusing on individual product updates, organizations will need to consider how data, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, finance, operations, supply chain, and customer engagement technologies work together.
The traditional Release Wave 1 and Release Wave 2 communication model is being retired. Instead of waiting for scheduled announcements, Microsoft will publish roadmap information as capabilities become committed and ready to share. This approach offers several advantages, including earlier visibility into upcoming features, more current status updates on product development, and better alignment with business planning cycles.
The AI at Work roadmap aims to provide a clearer understanding of how these technologies are evolving together. Organizations can now track innovation continually and incorporate relevant updates into their strategic planning efforts.
