Microsoft Delivers Clean Water Amidst Drought Emergency in Indonesia

Microsoft and Yayasan Rumah Energi partnered to provide clean water to communities affected by drought in Karawang and Bekasi regencies, West Java.

In August 2026, due to a dry season, river levels and irrigation flows declined, causing access to water for families in these areas. Fourteen villages in Kabupaten Karawang and thirty-two villages in Kabupaten Bekasi were affected by the drought emergency.

Micorosft delivered clean water through 28 tanks with a capacity of 5,000 litres each. The tanks were installed in accessible locations where households could easily reach them. In total, 140,000 litres of clean water were provided to 12 villages across the two regencies.
