Microsoft Denies Rumors of Xbox Game Pass Overhaul, Day-One Releases Remain
Xbox Game Pass subscribers were recently met with rumors of a major overhaul to the service. According to ResetEra user Slayven, Microsoft is planning to change Xbox Game Pass into two new tiers: one that has ads, and one that does not.
The rumored ad-enabled version would cost $13 a month, while the ad-free version would be priced at $20 a month. This move comes after the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was lowered by CEO Asha Sharma to $23 a month.
However, day-one new releases will remain unchanged for now, according to Microsoft. The company has dismissed rumors that these releases would be removed from February 2027 onwards.
