Microsoft Discloses $101.9B Azure Revenue, Marking Milestone for Cloud Business
Microsoft's Azure revenue has finally been disclosed in its entirety, reaching $101.9 billion for fiscal year 2026, according to a recent announcement by the company.
The long-awaited figure surpasses $100 billion, marking a significant milestone for Microsoft's cloud business. This revelation comes after years of criticism from Wall Street about incomplete visibility into Azure's growth engine, with analysts having to rely on blended estimates and management commentary to gauge its performance.
As part of the restructured financial reporting, Microsoft is collapsing its three operating segments into two: 'Agents and Infra' and 'Devices and Consumer.' Azure now sits at the center of the 'Agents and Infra' segment, which encompasses consumption-based platform and infrastructure business. The practical effect is a narrower definition of what counts as 'Azure,' with GitHub cloud services, developer cloud tooling, Security Copilot, and healthcare and life sciences cloud products moving out of Azure's reported revenue.
Despite the disclosure, Microsoft's stock price fell by about 1.6% in the sessions following the announcement, likely due to traders recalibrating their models against a tighter definition of Azure revenue. However, this redefinition does not change the underlying growth story, with Azure still outperforming its competitors.
