Microsoft has disrupted a major cybercrime service called EvilTokens through a court-authorized operation with law enforcement and industry partners.

The takedown, which targeted AI-powered phishing infrastructure, resulted in the seizure of 50 websites and the disabling of over 150 related domains, according to Microsoft.

Evidence suggests that EvilTokens compromised more than 12,000 inboxes across 10,000 organizations, using AI to sift through stolen emails for payment conversations and identify potential targets for impersonation.

The company's cloud, productivity, and cybersecurity business, MSFT, was trading at $497.64 on September 23, which is 15.2% below its estimated value of $586.84.
