Microsoft Dives Deeper into Dividend Payouts with 8% Boost
Microsoft recently increased its quarterly dividend per share to $0.98, representing an 8% boost from previous levels.
The company's dividend program has been a standout among its peers in the Magnificent Seven, including Meta Platforms, Apple, Alphabet, and Nvidia.
Even before this increase, Microsoft's dividend was significantly higher than that of its counterparts, with the next highest quarterly dividend per share coming from Meta at $0.525, about half of Microsoft's new rate.
The company has a track record of regular dividend growth over the past decade and boasts a cash payout ratio of 39.5%, which is considered healthy.
Microsoft's strong financials are also evident in its latest quarterly results, with revenue increasing by 18% year-over-year to $90 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share up 23% at $4.74.
