Microsoft Donates 22.5 Acres in Atlanta for Community Development
The City of Atlanta and the Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD) will host a community celebration on September 12 to mark Microsoft's donation of approximately 22.5 acres of land for community-focused development in the Grove Park neighborhood.
The donated parcel fronts Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and is positioned to help connect residents with nearby community resources, including KIPP Woodson Academy and the Grove Park Recreation Center.
Mayor Andre Dickens praised Microsoft's donation, saying 'This land donation creates an important opportunity to deliver meaningful benefits for Grove Park residents.'
The partnership aims to advance Mayor Dickens' goal of constructing or preserving 20,000 affordable housing units by 2029 and supports AUD's mission to create mixed-income communities with long-term affordability.
