Microsoft Engineer's Breakdown: Rs 63,000 Spent on Rent, Food, and Transportation in Bengaluru

A Microsoft software engineer in Bengaluru has shared her detailed breakdown of expenses for September. The 26-year-old techie, who wishes to remain anonymous, spent a total of Rs 63,000 during the month.

Her biggest expense was rent, with her share of the three-BHK apartment and maintenance coming to Rs 25,000. She lives with her college friends in the apartment.

The engineer's food expenses were also significant, with around Rs 2,000 spent on shared cooking costs and another Rs 3,000 on groceries. Dining out and ordering from Swiggy and Zomato added up to Rs 12,000.

Transportation costs, including bike petrol and autos/cabs, totalled Rs 7,000. Her gym membership and various subscriptions (such as AI and OTT platforms) cost around Rs 6,000 each month.
