Microsoft Execs Accused of Covering Up Crime Amid Developer Layoffs
Former Halo art director Glenn Israel has made serious allegations against Microsoft and Halo Studios personnel. In a LinkedIn post, he claimed that Pierre Hintze, the VP Head of Studio at Microsoft, committed a criminal offense in Washington state. He also named Chris Matthews, the art director at Halo Studios, and Damon Conn, an executive producer at Halo Studios, as allegedly facilitating the incident.
Israel accused members of Microsoft's Global Employee Relations team of covering up the matter. However, he did not specify the offense allegedly committed by Hintze or provide any documentation to support his claims. He also questioned why Hintze and other individuals remained employed while over 200 developers lost their jobs.
The allegations have been met with a denial from Brian Jarrard, Halo community director, who stated that studio leadership did not blacklist critical creators. However, he did not deny the allegation of applicant blacklisting by Hintze, Matthews, Conn, and employees at Microsoft's Global Employee Relations team.
