Microsoft's senior executives are speaking out about the company's AI technology, but not in the way one would expect. In a recent LinkedIn post, Ryan Roslansky, Microsoft EVP and former CEO of LinkedIn, expressed frustration with the 'AI slop' that is flooding his inbox.

Roslansky was not alone in his criticism, as he shared a post from Asha Sharma, Xbox CEO, who has also used the term 'AI slop' to describe subpar AI-generated content. This comes after LinkedIn deleted its 'enhance with AI' post button and replaced it with an 'AI slop' report feature.

Roslansky's plea for better AI technology was liked by Microsoft President Brad Smith, but the irony of the situation is not lost on many. The company has been criticized for its role in creating and promoting AI technology that is often used to generate low-quality content, such as the 'gaming Copilot'.

The issue of AI-generated content has become a major concern in recent months, with researchers warning about the dangers of 'model collapse,' where human content creators are put out of business by Google's AI summary box. Reddit is reportedly considering canceling its AI training contracts with Google due to concerns that the technology is killing its business.

Micorsoft has faced criticism for its handling of AI and its impact on the environment, with data centers destroying local communities and causing protests across the world. The company's poor image is not just limited to AI, as Windows adoption among consumers is gradually increasing due to concerns over bloatware, poor performance, and a collapse in trust.
