Microsoft Expands AI Monetization with Copilot Tools

Microsoft has unveiled new AI tools as part of its Copilot suite, which includes Home, Cowork, and Autopilot. These tools integrate Office features and allow users to create and refine files within conversations.

Cowork handles delegated tasks, while Autopilot extends that model into persistent execution, including monitoring channels and following up on threads.

The new Code tool uses GitHub Copilot technology to enable non-developers to build applications through natural language prompts.

Jefferies analysts believe the tools expand Microsoft's ability to monetize work, potentially raising the long-term average revenue per user ceiling for Microsoft 365.
