Padmanabhan Sundararajan, Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft in Hyderabad, addressed students and parents during Freshers' Day organized by JSS Science and Technology University (SJCE) on Saturday.

Sundararajan urged students to focus on building strong fundamentals, gaining practical experience, developing communication skills, and learning to adapt to rapidly changing technology.

He emphasized the importance of going beyond their syllabus and developing a deeper understanding of core subjects. 'Be curious and explore areas related to your subjects,' he advised.

Sundararajan also encouraged students to gain hands-on experience by developing real-world applications, websites, software programs, and engineering projects.

Regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sundararajan cautioned that while AI can accelerate learning, it should not be used as a substitute for thinking. 'Use AI as a learning tool, but retain the ability to understand, verify, and evaluate its output,' he advised.
