Microsoft Files Patent for AI-Powered Game Content Generation
Microsoft has filed a patent for a technology that uses generative AI to create game content based on player interactions and feedback. The process involves recording a player's facial expressions, voice, and other reactions while playing a game, and using this data to generate new narrative elements, characters, and worlds.
The technology can work in two ways: either the designer prompts the AI with written input, images, and audio files, or the player's actions and reactions are used to adapt the game world on-the-fly. In both cases, the AI generates content that is then refined by human designers before being incorporated into the game.
Microsoft also suggests using cameras and microphones to infer indicators from a player's spoken comments and facial expressions during gameplay, which raises concerns about player consent and data privacy.
