Microsoft Fixes Part of Excel Paste Bug
Microsoft has released a partial fix for an Excel bug that caused paste operations to fail in certain versions of the software. The issue was introduced by a security update released earlier this month, which aimed to address remote code execution and information disclosure vulnerabilities.
The hotfix only applies to Excel 2016, and users may still experience problems with conditional formatting. Although some users were able to work around the issue using Paste Special, others had to wait for Microsoft to resolve the problem.
Microsoft has had a challenging September, with several updates introducing new issues rather than resolving existing ones. The company's emergency update to address Windows security vulnerabilities left some USB audio devices silent, and another bug caused Windows Security to incorrectly report that Microsoft Defender Antivirus was disabled.
