Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has made significant strides in recent months, with its highest monthly active users since launch and best stability and frame rates ever seen. According to a recent livestream on Twitch by Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and other developers, the team is focusing on improving realism while retaining control over lighting conditions, shadows, and weather.
The next update will bring DLSS5 to PC, but with some caveats - it completely changes the lighting, which may affect gameplay. The team needs an API to control its implementation. Meanwhile, liveries are coming to PS5 in the near future, while airports require a debug tool for testing and hardware requirements.
A new tool for aircraft developers will aid in debugging and improving performance. World Update 23: Poland & Baltics is scheduled for October 27, featuring a payware Local Legend, the Antonov An-28, created by AT Simulations. Aircraft and Avionics Update 6 will bring several payware aircraft to MSFS 2024 standards on September 29.
Sim Update 7 is planned for October 13, including the National Championship Air Races, which will be part of the base simulator. The Full Collection price will decrease from $60 to $40. Those who purchased MSFS 2020 will receive everything at no additional cost.
