Microsoft Flight Simulator Adds Airbus Helicopters H125
The Airbus Helicopters H125, a highly versatile utility rotorcraft, is now available in the Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Marketplace. This single-engine helicopter, capable of seating up to seven people, is renowned for its reliability and exceptional high-altitude performance.
Development of the H125 began in the early 1970s by Aérospatiale, initially designated the AS350 Écureuil. The helicopter took its maiden flight on June 27, 1974, and was introduced into service in 1975. Over the decades, the airframe has undergone several improvements, making it one of the most reliable and high-performing helicopters in aviation history.
The H125 is used for various missions, including military operations, law enforcement, air ambulance services, firefighting, and search and rescue. It set a world record in 2005 for the highest altitude landing and take-off on Mount Everest. The helicopter features a 3-blade main rotor system, advanced composites for strength and light weight, and a Safran Helicopter Engines Arriel 2D turboshaft engine.
The Microsoft Flight Simulator version of the H125 is available for USD $14.99 and includes the official Airbus Helicopters livery. The simulator is available on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PC, Steam, and supported mobile devices via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
