Microsoft Issues Emergency Patch for Windows 11 Amid September Update Chaos

Microsoft recently issued an emergency patch for Windows 11 to address multiple issues introduced by its September update. The update, which was released on September 14, fixes bugs related to Remote Desktop connection instability, virtual machine folder-sharing failures, and audio output problems with USB audio devices.

The affected versions include KB5129195 for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, KB5129242 for 23H2, and KB5129194 for 26H1. These are cumulative updates, meaning they serve as substitutes for devices that haven't applied the September monthly update.

The September update, which fixed approximately 970 vulnerabilities across Microsoft's product portfolio, also introduced several regression bugs. RDP instability was particularly severe, causing Remote Desktop connections to drop within minutes or fail to sign in altogether.
