Microsoft Launches Frontier Partner Specialization for AI Agent Expertise
Microsoft has launched its new Frontier Partner specialization, offering eligible partners a chance to demonstrate expertise in designing, building, and securing AI agents across Microsoft's cloud, productivity, development, and security portfolios. The program, which became available on September 30, provides co-sell eligibility, product benefits, and go-to-market support to help partners leverage their agent expertise for customer projects.
The specialization extends beyond Copilot deployment, covering a wide range of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Defender, Entra, and Purview. Qualified partners can access Frontier-aligned co-sell eligibility, agent-use credits, Microsoft 365 E7 licenses, marketing resources, and a customer-facing specialization badge.
To qualify, partners must meet specific requirements, including four active specializations in areas like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Data Security, Identity and Access Management, and AI Apps or AI Platform on Microsoft Azure. Additionally, they need five employees with the Frontier Transformation Engineer badge and three employees with the Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification, DP-600. Microsoft notes that the same employees can fulfill both requirements.
Microsoft encourages partners to view AI adoption as an ongoing services opportunity rather than a one-time Copilot rollout. The company highlights opportunities in AI advisory, secure deployment and governance, agentic transformation, AI FinOps, and adoption, as well as managed services for governing agents and operating AI environments post-deployment.
