Microsoft's market value surged to historic levels after a strong quarter for its Azure cloud business. The company's shares jumped over 15% on Thursday, adding nearly $450 billion to its total market capitalization.

This increase surpassed the previous record set by Nvidia Corporation in April 2025, which added $441 billion in a single trading session.

The strong performance was driven by rapid revenue expansion across digital services, with Azure cloud computing unit growing 43% year-over-year in the fiscal fourth quarter.

Analysts noted that demand for enterprise computing helped restore investor confidence, after months of market pressure. Revenue growth for the unit represented the fastest pace since early 2022.

Market strategists highlighted clear financial returns from massive investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud infrastructure, which continues to outpace earlier corporate projections across several commercial sectors.
