Microsoft Microsoft 365 Suffers Global Service Disruption
Microsoft's Microsoft 365 platform has been hit by a widespread global service disruption, leaving enterprise users unable to access critical productivity tools. The outage, now in its second day, has affected various services including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online.
According to downdetector, about 35% of users have reported problems with the app, while 35% experienced login issues and 18% were unable to access the website. The company acknowledged the outage on X (formerly Twitter) and posted a status update explaining the current situation.
The root cause of the issue is an authentication configuration used by multiple Microsoft 365 services, resulting in broad functional glitches across major business tools. Microsoft has confirmed that users may experience degraded functionality with various Exchange Online functionalities.
