Microsoft Names Angela Nganga Country Lead for East Africa Amid Regional Tech Boom

Microsoft has appointed Angela Nganga as its country lead for East Africa. She takes over from Phyllis Migwi, who left the role in January after three and a half years.

Nganga is a long-serving member of Microsoft's Middle East and Africa Emerging Markets leadership team, joining the company in 2012 and based in Nairobi.

She has extensive experience, having held various roles within Microsoft, including director of corporate affairs for the Middle East and Africa, and education industry director for Africa. In her new position, Nganga will lead Microsoft's engagement with governments, enterprise customers, and the startup ecosystem across Kenya and the wider East Africa region.

The company has emphasized its commitment to East Africa's digital economy, pointing to the region's youthful population, growing startup ecosystem, and existing strengths in mobile technology and fintech as reasons it is well positioned to lead in AI-driven solutions across Africa.
