Microsoft Overhauls Copilot AI with New Home, Code, and Autopilot Capabilities
Microsoft has revamped its Copilot AI product to make it more accessible and intuitive for users. The company's chief partner officer, Nicole Dezen, says that the new version of Copilot extends solution provider opportunities beyond individual productivity gains and into more complex use cases.
The updated Copilot experience includes a new Home starting point where users can ask questions, look up information, and draft content. It also features a Code tool for creating applications with natural-language prompts and an Autopilot capability that acts as a persistent, proactive personal agent.
Autopilot can watch channels, follow up on threads, run recurring work, and pick up projects at a later time without user prompting. It can set and manage supplier review processes, build schedules, and handle meeting preparation and follow-ups.
The company has also announced that it will shift the licenses for Microsoft 365 Copilot Business to usage-based by default for eligible services starting November 2nd.
