Microsoft Pledges $10 Billion for Middle East Tech Push
Microsoft has announced a new framework for the Middle East focused on Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The company plans to invest more than $10 billion in the region through 2030 across technology, digital resilience, and people initiatives.
The announcement comes after Microsoft has been serving the Middle East since beginning operations there in 1991. The company described the region as pursuing 'one of the world's most ambitious AI transformations.'
Under the framework's technology pillar, Microsoft will continue investing in cloud and AI infrastructure across the region. This includes expanding capacity, launching new capabilities, and delivering long-term infrastructure commitments.
The company also plans to invest more than $400 million in subsea and terrestrial connectivity across the Middle East by 2030. This investment aims to expand capacity, strengthen regional data flows, and support Microsoft's growing cloud and AI infrastructure footprint in the region.
