Microsoft Pledges $10B+ to GCC Cloud and AI Push
Microsoft plans to invest over $10 billion in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region by 2030, focusing on cloud and AI infrastructure. This investment is part of the company's strategy to deepen partnerships with governments and national AI champions in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait.
The move comes as Gulf countries compete for a leading position in global AI transformation. Microsoft will work with regional entities like Humain (Saudi Arabia), G42 (UAE), QAI (Qatar), and the government of Kuwait to drive economic growth, modernize public services, and build competitiveness.
The company also aims to invest over $400 million in subsea and terrestrial connectivity across the Middle East by 2030. This investment will expand capacity, strengthen regional data flows, and support Microsoft's growing cloud and AI infrastructure footprint.
