Microsoft Prepares New Wave of Layoffs for Xbox Gaming Division

Microsoft is reportedly preparing to conduct another major wave of layoffs in its Xbox gaming division. The cuts could involve hundreds of job losses, and several studios may be affected.

The restructuring plan includes merging or reorganizing multiple game studios, including Blizzard and Halo Studios. This move comes after Microsoft laid off 1,600 employees in July, with plans to eliminate the same number by the end of the fiscal year.

Blizzard Entertainment is specifically mentioned as one of the potential targets for layoffs. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier stated during a podcast that Blizzard may be next on the list, as it avoided large-scale layoffs during the previous wave in July.
