Microsoft has developed a standalone app called Microsoft Recommended Search Settings to promote Bing in browsers beyond its own Edge.

The utility, which is available for Windows 11, can install Bing extensions and change search settings in Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers.

The app's installer is around 22.2MB and opens with a recommendation to set Bing as the default search engine, which is already toggled on by default.

Chrome warns users that the Microsoft Bing Homepage & Search extension can read and change data on websites, display notifications, and modify browser settings.
