Microsoft Readies AI-Powered Windows Revolution at October Event
Microsoft is preparing to unveil its vision for the next era of personal computing at an upcoming event in San Francisco. The gathering, scheduled for October 7, will showcase how on-device artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming Windows and Microsoft's Surface hardware lineup.
The event will feature a notable speaker roster, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Pavan Davuluri, who leads the Windows and Devices division, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. The three executives are expected to discuss the 'latest innovations across Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface, and the broader PC ecosystem.'
The October 7 event is seen as a natural venue for Microsoft to provide more details on its RTX Spark platform, which was unveiled earlier this year. This system-on-a-chip combines an NVIDIA GPU with an Arm-based CPU and 128GB of memory to run high-performance AI workloads locally without relying on cloud servers.
Microsoft has already announced the Surface Laptop Ultra, a device built on the RTX Spark platform, but pricing and release date details have yet to be disclosed. The industry is eagerly awaiting concrete commercial details as rival laptop makers have introduced their own RTX Spark-powered machines.
