Microsoft Rebrand Registry Tracks Product Name Changes in Real-Time

A new online archive called the 'Microsoft Rebrand Registry' aims to track and predict Microsoft's product name changes. The registry, created by multiple MVP award recipient Loryan Strant, lists 72 surviving Microsoft products with their varying approaches to capitalization style.

Strant's previous projects include Let Me Correct That For You, which lists the full names of Microsoft products with their different capitalization styles. The Rebrand Registry also includes an analysis section that provides insights into product areas with the longest and shortest-lived brand names and some predictions on which Microsoft products are most likely to get a new name soon.

According to Strant's analysis, there is an 'elevated' likelihood that several Microsoft products will be rebranded soon. These include Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service. The registry suggests that Microsoft changes product names frequently, with 158 different names used across its 72 products.
