Microsoft Releases Temporary Fix for Windows 11 Gaming Issues
Microsoft has identified a temporary fix for ongoing gaming issues caused by recent Windows 11 updates. The problems, which began after the August 2026 Patch Tuesday, have resulted in games crashing or freezing on affected systems.
The impacted games include ARC Raiders, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and The Finals on Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. According to Microsoft, the issues are related to drivers or components installed by RGB devices on affected PCs.
Microsoft has released a workaround that requires gamers to disable the inpoutx64 driver using the Windows Registry. This involves backing up the registry, navigating to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/system/currentcontrolset/services/inpoutx64 key, and changing the Start value to 4.
The company warned that disabling this registry key may result in unintended behavior with RGB features on peripherals or components.
