Microsoft Revamps Copilot App Amid Lagging Stock Performance

Microsoft has released an updated version of its Copilot app, which combines office work and coding tasks in one place. The new app brings together two previously separate products: Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot.

The original Copilot apps were priced separately, with Microsoft 365 Copilot costing $30 per user per month. In contrast, the updated app will be billed based on customer usage for its Code, Cowork, and Autopilot features.

Despite the efforts to revamp its AI offerings, Microsoft's stock has lagged behind its peers this year, with a 9% increase compared to the Nasdaq's 25% gain. The company's strong business performance, including an 18% revenue growth in the June quarter and a projected 45% Azure growth next quarter, may not be enough to boost investor confidence.
