Microsoft Reverses Taskbar Decision, Allows Customization in Windows 11

Microsoft has finally relented on one of its most contentious decisions in Windows 11. The company is reversing its stance on making the taskbar movable, a feature that was removed with the release of Windows 11.

The move comes after months of criticism from enthusiasts who felt the decision to remove this feature was an example of Microsoft refusing to listen to user feedback. As part of the upcoming September update, users will be able to move the taskbar to any edge of their screen and even shrink it to free up more space.

Other changes in the update include the ability to turn off Bing search results from the Start menu, a feature that has been long requested by users. Microsoft is also tweaking its OneDrive integration, making it less pushy when prompting users to back up their files.
