Google's parent company Alphabet saw its stock (GOOGL) rise by about 1% on September 2 after a judge rejected an order that would have forced the search engine giant to sell its advertising technology business.

The latest court ruling is favorable for Alphabet because it means the company's business will not be broken up and will remain intact.

Federal Judge Leonie Brinkema denied the U.S. Justice Department's demand to force a sale of Google's AdX platform, instead ordering 'behavioral changes' to Google's business operations and the way it charges companies for online advertisements.
