Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 11 26H2 with Enhanced Security and User Experience
Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 26H2 for all eligible users. The new update brings numerous security improvements, performance enhancements, and user experience upgrades.
The features of Windows 11 26H2 are already available on devices running version 25H2 or 24H2, but they remain disabled until the 26H2 enablement package is installed. This package, identified as KB5121794, can only be obtained through Windows Update and not from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Some of the notable security enhancements include administrator protection for just-in-time admin privileges and profile separation, as well as built-in Sysmon functionality to capture system events for threat detection. Additionally, Smart App Control can now be enabled or disabled without requiring a clean installation of Windows.
Other significant improvements in Windows 11 26H2 include support for peripheral fingerprint sensors through Windows Hello, driver security enhancements, and user experience upgrades such as the ability to change the Taskbar size and position. The update also brings several accessibility features, including more precise zoom controls and screen tint options for Magnifier.
