Microsoft Signals Strong Demand for Computing Power, Boosting Nvidia Prospects

Nvidia investors should be optimistic about the chipmaker's future prospects due to recent statements from AI hyperscalers, including Microsoft. In its latest earnings report, Microsoft's chief financial officer Amy Hood said that the company will continue to increase its capital expenditure (capex) plans in fiscal 2027 due to 'demand signals across our portfolio.'

This indicates that Microsoft believes there is still strong demand for computing power and that it does not have sufficient capacity. As a major client of Nvidia, this bodes well for the company's sales.

Nvidia's stock price has been relatively low, trading at 21.1 times forward earnings, which is the same valuation as the S&P 500. Wall Street analysts project a 42% revenue growth in fiscal 2028, indicating significant growth potential for Nvidia in the coming year.
