Microsoft Skips AMD Processors for New Surface Devices

Microsoft has confirmed that its latest Surface devices will not be powered by AMD processors. In an interview with Windows Central, CVP for Surface devices Brett Ostrum explained that Microsoft values its relationship with AMD but has a limited portfolio that prevents it from offering too many processor choices.

Ostrum stated that 'We love working with AMD' and that the two companies will continue to work together on other products in the future. However, he did not confirm whether future Surface devices will ship with AMD chips.

The latest Surface devices are powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus SoC, which offers improved battery efficiency, graphics performance, and AI inference compared to its predecessor.
