Microsoft Stock Surges After Strong Earnings Report

Microsoft's stock has surged 26% from its 52-week low after a recent earnings report showed promising signs for the tech giant.

The company's revenue from Microsoft Azure crossed $100 billion in the past fiscal quarter, marking the first time it has reached this milestone.

This growth is largely due to its artificial intelligence (AI) dealings and cloud performance, which increased 41% year-over-year. The company's cloud backlog also grew 25% year-over-year, despite a significant portion being tied to OpenAI.

However, not all of Microsoft's segments are performing well, with its consumer businesses experiencing declining revenue in the recent quarter, including a 4% drop in the 'more personal computing' segment and a 13% drop in Xbox hardware sales.
