Microsoft Surge Drives Dow Higher as Meta Loses Steam Amid Ongoing Nuclear Talks

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.8% on Friday, led by Microsoft's 4.1% jump after merging its consumer and workplace Copilot apps into a single enterprise product.

This move means Microsoft is ceding the personal chatbot market to companies like OpenAI and Meta, which are focusing on AI assistants for consumers.

Meta itself dropped 3.6% after announcing plans to integrate its Muse agent into AI glasses and previewing a pocket-sized gadget called Charm, with over 100 styles of Muse-driven glasses promised by year-end.

Other Dow gainers included Caterpillar and Sherwin-Williams, which tend to move with the economy rather than their own announcements.
