Microsoft Taps AWS Vet Jason Dunn as Director of Community

Microsoft has appointed Jason Dunn as its Director of Community for the EdTech Innovation Hub. Dunn joins Microsoft after six years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he worked on developer community programs and built relationships between the AWS community and internal teams.

Dunn's background in building global communities spans over 15 years, with a focus on connecting groups with internal company teams to facilitate feedback, information exchange, and value creation. He believes customer experience is key, stating 'the greatest threat a business has is not their competitors; it's the expectations of their customers.'

As Director of Community at Microsoft, Dunn will be responsible for building communities around internal connections, leveraging his experience in community management. He sees AI as a supporting tool for community teams but emphasizes that human connection cannot be replaced by technology.
