Microsoft Teases Faster Windows 11 Boot Times, Smoother Performance on 8GB Machines

Microsoft recently showcased its efforts to improve Windows 11's performance at IFA in Berlin. According to Mark Linton, corporate vice president of Windows & Devices at Microsoft, the company is working on faster startup times and better behavior on machines equipped with just 8GB of memory.

Linton framed this work as part of a broader push to shore up the OS fundamentals, stating that 'we're continuing to improve on the fundamentals. We're listening to customer feedback, continuously improving Windows, and you'll see those updates as Windows just gets better as the updates come through.'

However, Microsoft has not confirmed when these changes will reach the Experimental testing channel or provided performance benchmarks to substantiate the claims.
