Microsoft Tells Windows 11 Users How to Speed Up Boot Times
Microsoft has acknowledged that Windows 11 is memory-heavy and is working on new tools to address excessive resource usage. In the meantime, users can improve boot times by disabling unnecessary startup apps.
To do this, go to Settings > Apps > Startup and toggle off programs you don't need to launch at boot. Alternatively, use Task Manager, which can be opened by right-clicking the Start button or pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
Task Manager shows detailed information about each startup app, including its 'Startup impact' rating, which is classified as Low (under 300 milliseconds of CPU time and under 292 KB of disk activity), Medium (between 300 milliseconds and one second, or between 292 KB and 3 MB), or High (over one second or over 3 MB).
Microsoft advises against disabling high-impact apps automatically, as some programs may be needed immediately after sign-in. Disabling a startup app does not uninstall it, and users can enable it again later.
