Microsoft to end OneDrive support for older iPhone and iPad models
Microsoft has announced plans to discontinue support for its OneDrive app on devices running iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, affecting several older iPhone and iPad models. The change will impact the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, as these devices cannot be updated to iOS 26. Similarly, the seventh-generation iPad will lose compatibility when Microsoft raises the app's minimum requirement to iPadOS 26.
The final version of OneDrive to support iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 is 18.12.1, according to release notes for Microsoft's latest TestFlight beta. While the exact timeline for the public version is unclear, Microsoft has added a notice to its App Store listing, indicating that support will be dropped "soon." Users are advised to update to iOS 26 or iOS 27 to continue receiving app updates.
Existing versions of OneDrive will likely continue functioning on affected devices, but they will no longer receive new features, fixes, or other updates once Microsoft implements the change.
