Microsoft Unfazed by GTA 6 Preorder Gap Between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Microsoft is shrugging off early preorder figures for Grand Theft Auto 6, which show a significant gap between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S preorders. According to Sensor Tower, PS5 accounts for 77% of reported GTA 6 preorders, while Xbox makes up the remaining 23%. This gives the PS5 more than three times the reported preorder volume of Xbox.
Rockstar Games' upcoming installment has already reached around 4.35 million pre-orders on PS5, representing roughly $426 million in revenue. Meanwhile, Xbox Series X|S accounts for about 1.3 million reported copies, generating approximately $128 million in reported preorder revenue.
Microsoft's Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball addressed the figures on X, stating that the company is 'very happy' with GTA 6 preorders. He also claimed that the game is already breaking records on Xbox and expects additional records to be set as the launch gets closer.
