Microsoft Unifies Copilot Apps, Ditches Legacy Features
Microsoft is merging its two Copilot apps into one, streamlining its AI experience for users. The new app will replace both Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot, providing a unified platform for personal and professional use.
The changes are set to take effect on August 18, when three features will be discontinued: Podcasts, Deep Research, and Group Chat messages. Users of these features should export any important content before the deadline, as access will no longer be available after that date.
Microsoft Copilot 365 users can expect minor navigational changes when updating to the new app, while Copilot users with personal accounts may need to switch to the new app on desktop. Mobile users will receive an update, and chats and content will transfer accordingly.
