Microsoft Unveils Agent Connectors for Dynamics 365 Agentic ERP
Microsoft has made two agent connectors generally available for its Dynamics 365 Agentic ERP system. The connectors, which include the Dynamics 365 ERP plugin for Copilot Cowork and the Dynamics 365 ERP Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allow agents working in Microsoft 365 to read and act on ERP records.
The move marks a significant shift in how ERP teams track upcoming AI and automation capabilities. Microsoft's continuous Dynamics 365 roadmap replaces twice-yearly release waves, providing a more flexible and dynamic approach to planning and adoption.
Copilot responses can now cite and link back to ERP records, while customers will be able to write reusable instructions for ERP agents using business skills. These skills will turn procedures into actionable instructions for agents, allowing organizations to decide which actions can be initiated by agents on their behalf.
