Microsoft Unveils AI Playbook for Businesses
Microsoft has released its Frontier Playbook, a guide for businesses to turn AI experiments into measurable results. The playbook draws on over 100 of Microsoft's internal AI projects across various corporate functions and teams.
The guide outlines five key priorities for companies to follow: starting with specific business goals, redesigning inefficient processes before automating them, assigning executives to oversee those goals, codifying institutional knowledge into AI evaluations, and giving each AI agent its own identity and limited permissions.
Microsoft shares an example of how its supply chain team deployed 111 AI agents after simplifying workflows, resulting in a 75% reduction in cycle times for selected workflows. The company also found that employee engagement is critical, with employees seeing more value from AI when managers actively demonstrated how they used it.
