Microsoft Unveils AI-Powered Laptops at San Francisco Event
Microsoft is hosting its first dedicated laptop event in two years to showcase its latest Windows and Surface devices on October 7 in San Francisco. The company has been emphasizing the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in its products, and this event will be a 'conversation on how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.'
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Pavan Davuluri, head of Windows and Devices, are expected to speak at the event. One of the most anticipated announcements is the release of the Surface Laptop Ultra, a 15-inch high-end variant that was first announced in spring. This laptop will be powered by Nvidia's new RTX Spark chip.
The event may also see the introduction of new Surface mice and possibly some updates on Windows licensing costs. The prices of computer hardware have been rising due to increased manufacturing costs, which are partly attributed to the growing demand for advanced chips in data centers and laptops. This trend has led to higher price tags for devices.
