Microsoft Unveils Cloud-Based Recovery Feature for Windows 11
Microsoft is testing a new recovery feature for Windows 11 called Cloud Rebuild. This feature allows users to reinstall the operating system directly from the cloud, eliminating the need for a separate installation medium.
Cloud Rebuild is part of the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and can be initiated in case of an emergency. The computer will download the necessary installation files from the internet and automatically set up Windows, including the appropriate drivers.
The feature also includes a new 'Remove files and clean' option that not only removes files but also specifically cleans drives before reinstallation, making it harder to recover deleted data.
Cloud Rebuild is aimed at both private users and businesses. IT departments will be able to initiate recovery remotely in the future and specify which version of Windows is installed.
