Microsoft Unveils Next-Gen Surface Devices with Snapdragon X2 Plus Processor
Microsoft has unveiled its next-generation Surface Pro and Surface Laptop devices at Snapdragon Summit. The new Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processor.
The Surface Pro 12-inch promises to be Microsoft's most versatile device yet, weighing just 0.69 kilograms (1.5 pounds) and featuring a slightly brighter screen with a peak brightness of 500-nit, 25% higher than before. The screen has a resolution of 2196 x 1464 (220 PPI). It also comes with Microsoft Ink Canvas, an AI-powered pen-first experience that lets users sketch, annotate, and generate images directly on the screen.
The Surface Laptop 13-inch is described as 'the classic Surface laptop refined' by Microsoft. Like the Surface Pro, it's thin, light, and fanless, with a full-size backlit keyboard and a precision touchpad. The device promises up to 22.5 hours of battery life for local video playback or 18 hours of web usage.
The new devices will begin shipping on October 13, with prices starting at $1,149.99 for the Surface Pro 12-inch and $1,199 for the Surface Laptop 13-inch.
