Microsoft Unveils October 8th Event: What to Expect from Windows and Surface
Microsoft is hosting an event related to Windows and Surface on October 8th at 2:00 AM. The event, which takes place just before midnight for some time zones, will feature appearances by CEO Satya Nadella, Pavan Davrli (who heads Windows and Surface), and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, among others.
The Verge predicts that the RTX Spark PCs could be the centerpiece of the event. RTX Spark is a System-on-Chip (SoC) developed by NVIDIA for laptops, featuring 128GB of memory, an NVIDIA GPU, and an Arm-based CPU, enabling high-performance AI to run locally.
The Verge also predicts that Microsoft will focus on improving the quality of Windows and its upcoming initiatives. However, they don't think Windows 12 will be a surprise announcement. This event marks the first major Windows-related event since May 2024, where Microsoft announced a new Arm-based Copilot+ PC and strengthened its partnership with Qualcomm.
