Microsoft Unveils Pay-As-You-Go Option for Xbox Cloud Gaming
Microsoft is expanding access to its Xbox Cloud Gaming service with a new pay-as-you-go option. Starting in November, anyone will be able to purchase cloud playtime hours through the Xbox Store and stream eligible games on supported devices.
This move marks a shift away from the subscription-based model, which has limited gamers to 15 hours of cloud gaming per month for Ultimate subscribers. The pay-as-you-go option is targeted at those who don't own an Xbox or primarily play on their phone.
Microsoft is also testing free, ad-supported cloud gaming for Xbox Insiders. This could potentially open up cloud gaming access to more people without an Xbox.
